The slogan on the Home page of this website reads:

‘A Stoma may be for life, but it don’t stop you living it!’

It is so true. There is life out there it’s just a matter of working through the issues and looking at them head on and deciding that you are going to make the best of what you’ve got.
Since my surgery, I have worked in a hospice as a social worker helping people come to terms with their situation. I have also written and had published 5 books - 3 of them children’s fantasy adventures and since retiring, I have become a freelance photographer with photographs for sale on quite a few stock photography sites.
The secret is deciding that you’re going to make the most of every opportunity that comes along and also creating a few opportunities too and seeing where they lead.

A stoma may be for life but life is for living and no matter what you’re struggling with at the moment, please be reassured that we are here to help and support you.
